The 2012 Château Lassègue enjoys the opulent south-westerly sun on the gentle slopes of Côte de Saint-Èmilion in the Saint-Èmilion region, with the vines for this wine planted on the predominantly limestone slopes.
The Merlot dominant blend consists of 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 12 months in French oak.
'Deep black fruit and tobacco greet the nose, along with a hint of grassy lift. The full-bodied palate is driven by rich blackberry fruit, cracked pepper, and fresh herbs, supported by grippy tannins that hold everything together." Courtney Schiessl, March 2018.
Independent Bordeaux critic Jean-Marc Quarin scored this 92 points on release and said “Pierre Seillan, the author of Vérité, La Joie, Le Désir, excellent wines of California, refines his approach of Bordeaux and he offers to us the 2012 millesime with a subtle and very fruity nose, with the mouth finely soft, full, juicy in the medium and which keeps a fine touch and fruity bright until finally. Beautiful behavior, beautiful length."
We also have the Lassègue 2008 and 2017 you should check out. The 2012 Château Lassègue has a drinking window 2018 - 2035.
