Margaux's 2eme Grand Cru Classé, the 2017 Château Lascombes has shown that its vintages continue to improve in quality year after year.
The blend consists of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot, displaying all the character and noble complexity of the finest Margaux.
VertdeVin writes: "The nose is fruity, racy and offers a fine concentration as well as a fine gourmandize / unctuosity. It reveals notes of cassis, wild strawberry and small notes of crunchy raspberry associated with small touches of blackberry, spices, discreet touches of flowers (in the background), licorice, discreet toasted touches as well as fine touches of gray pepper and an imperceptible touch of nutmeg. The mouth is juicy, fruity, well-balanced and offers a good definition, a fine acid frame, a beautiful juiciness, tension, a small straightness, a very fine unctuosity, density, a fine gourmandize as well as freshness..."
The palate is fresh and flavoursome with fine tannins. The 2017 Château Lascombes will age well and make a great gift. Drink between 2023 - 2039.
