The 2017 Château Branaire Ducru is a smooth and elegantly structured medium bodied wine with a promising future.
The nose is complex, harmonious and expressive with wonderful freshness and a good level of acidity (pH 3.65), with "brambly black fruit, melted tar and tobacco scents, not powerful but precise... just a subtle savory note developing and merging nicely with the black fruit, hints of white pepper and cedar towards the poised finish that is quintessential Saint-Julien." 91/93 Neal Martin, vinous.com, May 2018
In the cellar, the wine is aged to reach its purest expression. The barrels are made from timber selected in the best French forests and the harvest is fully bottled at the Château.
All in all, the 2017 Château Branaire Ducru is a very drinkable wine from 2021 - 2040 and together with the 2014 vintage, will make a wonderful gift.
