The 2008 Château Margaux is dense, rich and with superb slightly dry tannins. It has a a very tight-grained texture, wonderful length, and a more classic personality than previously thought
Described as a beauty and having "...everything you could want from a wine. A huge nose of cassis fruit intermixed with Asian spices, dried flowers and incense all soar from the glass, it is medium to full-bodied and pure, with ripe tannis and a great finish."
With a blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 1.5% Cabernet Franc & 1.5% Petit Verdot from the Médoc region; in the mouth it expresses notes of red fruits, plum, cherry and strawberry associated with some woody notes and mineral notes.
Some say the 2012 vintage has a slight edge, but we think this sexy, elegant and stunning 1er Grand Cru Classé 2008 Château Margaux is a great investment and a keeper. Best between 2011 - 2050.
