This is an elegant rich balanced wine from Lafite Rothschild. The "younger sister" Carruades de Lafite 2010 holds the same charcoal and black currant notes evident in its older sibling.
According to Robert Parker, Wine Advocate (205), March 2013, "The wine displays much of the same lead pencil, charcoal and black currant notes of its bigger sister, although it is forward, precocious and far less structured than the grand vin." (think teenager!)
Note the engraving of its name "Carruades de Lafite" on the bottle tp prevent unscrupulous wine merchants and dishonest sommeliers trying to present it as a Château Lafite Rothschild.
The 2010 Carruades de Lafite is another bottle from the Lafite family that will cellar beautifully beyond 20-25 more years, and is well worth the investment today.
