From the Rhône valley we have Château Pesquié Quintessence Côtes du Ventoux 2019 made up of a blend of 80% Syrah and 20% Grenache from the high elevation vineyards at the foot of Mont Ventoux.
These vines occupy clay and limestone slopes and are among some of the last to produce fully ripened fruit in the southern Rhône Valley.
"Lavish notes of violet, black plum and raspberry preserves perfume this voluminous 80/20 blend of Syrah and Grenache... The Quintessence is a consistently fantastic wine at an approachable price point that balances intense fruit ripeness with a firm undertow of salty, stony minerality..." Anna Lee C. Iijima
Dry with medium acidity and full tannins. It also has a warming 15.5% alcohol content that sneaks up on you but is well integrated.
The Château Pesquié Quintessence Côtes du Ventoux 2019 is a powerful wine that will drink well to 2029 and most likely beyond.
