The Château Carbonnieux Pessac-Leognan 2016 strives to practice organic and sustainable farming throughout the vineyards in the Graves Region south of Bordeaux; resulting in fruity, juicy, well-balanced wines (they also have white wines) with a beautiful tension.
Neal Martin, vinous.com (Jan 2019) describes it as a wine that "...has a refined bouquet of brambly black fruit, cedar and subtle bay leaf aromas that gently unfolds in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannin and a crisp line of acidity. Saline and spicy toward the second half, with a feisty but focused finish that lingers in the mouth. Great potential here. A Pessac-Léognan that deserves a higher profile, especially given quality like this."
The 2016 Château Carbonnieux Pessac-Leognan has fine tannins and is slightly creamy with good length. Classic Carbonnieux style. Drink 2022-2040
