The 2017 Château Blason d'Issan from the Margaux region close to the Gironde estuary is a blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon and 48% Merlot. Layers of juicy and crisp blank currant fruit with an attractive acidity, this is a wine that has a beginning, middle and end.
Decanter describes it as "rather lovely... It has a real depth to the fruit, with a brush of caramel through it and a highly appealing cigar box twist on the finish. It doesn't quite have the voluptuous ripeness of 2015 and 2016, but there's plenty of Margaux elegance, precision and touches of florality." 94
